HOW TO PURCHASE MY WORK
xyzzy
Marlboro College lured me to Vermont in 1975 and, with the exception of a few years in Providence, Tribeca and London, England, I have made my home here ever since.
Marlboro was a multi-disciplinary experience which, as a bonafide ADD/dyslexic learner, suited me perfectly.
I started making jewelry in the early 1970’s with an artist named John Stokes and later, while teaching at the Greenwood school, learned how to cast silver and bronze in charcoal from a visiting artist.
This technique is very much like making a monoprint and dovetails well with my interest in printmaking. I often use stencils and stamps in my paintings as well.
I have been a jewelry maker, painter, printmaker, theatre director, stage and lighting designer, and musician in the area for many decades, having performed and shown work throughout New England. After recently retiring from a 35 year career at the Greenwood School, I am concentrating my energies on fine art.
The heart of artmaking for me is process and humor. I am often tickled by the “mistakes” that become integral to a series of work.
Most recently I have been creating fish can assemblages, which all seem to be imbued with religious overtones. My art history professor would be so amused.
